Hello folks, I hope you are all doing good and keeping safe. I have an issue with how Iray is processing the appearing/forming object/component which gives me an unsatisfying result I would like to get right straightaway, instead of spending lots of time in tweaking/changing/substituting the original geometry + lots of postproduction work with Adobe Effects. For reference: this only happens when I turn on the Render mode: Iray; when I have Render mode: Phong Shaded, it never happens. So, once I have my neat and clean model with Phong Shaded, and everything works all right, I turn on Iray, and make few changes to the Sun altitude/camera exposure to match with the G oogleEarth image below, used for context. No need to say that even if I do minimal changes, the final output can be sometimes very different, with lots of strange shades happening in flat geometry, or random black strips on flat geometry that may have been modelled with the ProBoolean command in 3ds max. As you can see from the 2 images below, before the geometry has appeared completely, Iray already casts black shadows of it, as if it were already in place. This happens with almost every element: foundations , steel, decking, floors, etc... Picture 1 Picture 2 I literally spend hours trying to find the right angle, sun/exposure setting first (not to mention that this means that instead of having an animation that pans around around the building, I tend to keep a still angle to avoid output changes that sometimes don't even show in the preview), and if any of these work, I go back to the original geometry, change/tweak/move/substitute until it works. As you can imagine, this is a very long, laborious and sometimes frustrating process, and I would like to know if any of you has had the same issues, and any advice/solution available.
